EVS* 114 - Environmental Science SR: Scientific Reasoning and SK: Scientific Knowledge and Understanding 4 credits Examines the scientific, social, and political aspects of environmental problems. Emphasizes water, solid waste, air pollution and local land use decisions by focusing on the biological, chemical, and physical aspects of environmental science. Examines energy sources and the relationships between the environment and society. This course also considers environmental ethics, law, and the relationships between the environment, economics and government. Laboratory exercises expand upon these various topics as they are discussed in lecture. Students who have taken and successfully completed EVS* 100 may not take EVS 114. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3
