EAS* 106 - Natural Disasters SK: Scientific Knowledge and Understanding 3 credits Provides an introduction to the causes, distribution, and consequences of Earth’s natural hazards and disasters including: earthquakes; volcanoes; hurricanes; severe storms; floods; extraterrestrial impacts; and events related to global climate change. The course will focus on naturally-occurring disasters and will also consider the role of anthropogenic (human) activities in exacerbating and/or mitigating these processes and events.
