CHE* 211 - Organic Chemistry I 4 credits Presents bonding, formulation, and molecular shapes of organic molecules. Presents nomenclature, preparation, and creations of alkanes, cycloalkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and aromatics. Explains reaction mechanisms when necessary. The laboratory portion features the basic reaction and preparation techniques used in organic chemistry. The laboratory exercises investigate either the preparation or the reaction of the aforementioned chemical species. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 4 Prerequisite(s): CHE* 122 or instructor’s permission.
