SOC* 111 - Child, Family, School and Community 3 credits An in-depth look at the child, family, and the relationship between the function of school, community, and the family. Will review the socialization process and the development of the child as a social being. An understanding of the young child and age-appropriate guidance for the young child will be examined. This course will address the role culture, diversity, and theory partner with families and community. An understanding of how to effectively communicate with families will also be explored. An understanding of how society and education partner in the socialization process for children from birth to age eight.
