Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of the roles of police, courts, and corrections; and explain the functions they serve within the criminal justice system and the community.

Apply principles of constitutional laws that protect the rights of and regulate the conduct of individuals in a culturally diverse society.

Demonstrate knowledge of theories, principles, and processes of the criminal justice system.

Analyze the importance of legal, ethical, political, social, and psychological issues as they relate to crime and justice, with a focus on the over-representation of racial and ethnic minorities in the criminal justice system.
