PSY* 122 - Child Growth and Development 3 credits Covers child development, from birth through adolescence, emphasizing the preschool child. Considers the physical, emotional, mental, and social characteristics of the child at various stages of development. Views life stages in terms of a variety of theoretical frameworks: Freud, Erickson, Piaget, and representative behaviorists. Requires each student to do twenty hours of fieldwork and observation in a preschool or approved alternative setting. Prerequisite(s): Eligible for ENG* 063 or higher.
