MFG* 208 - Process Engineering 4 credits Introduces the principles and techniques used to design the most efficient method of product manufacturing, establish the best sequence of operations, select the proper machines to perform the operations, evaluate the need for special tooling, and provide conceptual sketches of special tools. The laboratory portion consists of workshop problems that prepare the student for an entry-level position in manufacturing process design. Exercises cover such conventional machine tools as turn, drill, mill, broach, CNC, grind, and miscellaneous processes. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Prerequisite(s): MFG* 102 .
