DTS* 201 - Data Science in R 3 credits An introduction to the field of knowledge extraction from data. Explores the data science life-cycle, including discovery and question formulation, data collection and cleaning, exploratory data analysis and visualization, statistical inference and prediction, communication and evaluation. Focuses on quantitative critical thinking, key principles and techniques needed to carry out this cycle. No prior programming experience required. Lecture Hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): MAT* 167 with a grade of C or higher.
