CHE* 212 - Organic Chemistry II


4 credits
Builds on the knowledge learned in Organic Chemistry I, presenting the nomenclature, preparation, and creation of alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, amines, and biomolecules. Explains reaction mechanisms when necessary. The laboratory exercises investigate either the preparation or the reaction of the aforementioned chemical species. Other laboratory exercises include using modern instrumentation to identify organic compounds. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 4
