CJS* 102 - Introduction to Corrections 3 credits A study of the history, philosophy, and evolution of corrections. The course examines the following processes used by our courts: probation, parole, treatment programs, and rehabilitation models. Punishment and the functions of our jails and prisons are examined. Additional topics include plea-bargaining, speedy trial, sentencing, prisoner’s rights, victimization, and juvenile justice.
