EET* 256 - Microprocessors 4 credits Presents the programming fundamentals of a particular microprocessor and its instruction set, as well as how to write programs with this instruction set. Students will also learn the architecture of the microprocessor, including the arithmetic-logic unit, registers, flags, bus structure and timing operations. Interfacing techniques to memory and input/ output devices will also be introduced. In the lab, students are introduced to both a microprocessor trainer and a microprocessor simulator and will learn how to use this trainer to write, test and troubleshoot a variety of programs using arithmetic, logic, and branch instructions.
